Introduction
Custom Ear Plugs was originally started in September 2002 when Jim Brown became franchised to Green Leopard to make custom molded ear plugs. Jim’s only advertising was by ‘word of mouth’, and being an accomplished shooter and motorcyclist Jim had plenty of takers for the product in these spheres of sport. Jim was later to ‘go it alone’ and setting very high standards his customer base grew. The rest is history so to speak!
Jim supplied Sue Wilson and me with a pair of Featherweight filtered ear plugs for our very own ‘Long Way Home’ six month motorcycle adventure and we had nothing but praise for the product. They were comfortable for all day every day use, even in the 50 degrees heat of Turkmenistan, they also survived a thorough dowsing in petrol in Siberia. The ear plugs were, quite simply, a godsend. I’m still using them four years later.
The product
Custom molded ear plugs attenuate by 30db average, minimum required by CE standard CE EN 352-2 is 22db. They are comfortable, won’t shrink, they’re easy to clean and they are Hypo-allergenic (no allergic reactions)
First we examine your ear to make sure all is OK in there, and then we mix the Instamold® unique material to a choice of your colour(s) and make an impression of your ear. This will be the finished product and all later work on the ear plug, finishing, fitting of filters, ear monitors etc. is all done ‘in house’.
The ear plugs then require 12 hours to cure, after which we hand finish each ear plug, apply the final durable clear coating and fit the Hocks Noisebreaker® filters or sound monitors, as required. You would then receive your earplugs by post three to four days after being ‘fitted’.
